This little story all started from a friend of my wife getting a new little friend to sit on her writing desk and keep her company, Cakles the Rainbow Cake Scented Sloth. They wondered what was his story, why was he rainbow, and why did he smell of cake?
Well as it has been told in fable of 'ole sloths are slow yes, but it is also told that there are more living among us than we realize. Sloths that we see on natural documentaries, in zoos, and in the wild.... This sloths are the less experienced sloths of the sloth world. The true ambition of the sloth is "Hide and Seek". Did you know the original idea for the camouflage tech for the Predator was based on sloths? Sloths are are actually everywhere hiding in plain site as random things like large rocks, street signs, and so much more. Some of the sloths try to experiment though, they try and go beyond the regular inanimate object level. Some like Cakles delve in the dark sloth craft of the "delectable". These sloths that dare stray from the conventional ways of their ancestors hide as items of food tempting to see how long they can go before being discovered. The unfortunate side affect of this dark art is that sometimes the sloth is stuck mid-form, such as in the case of Cakles. Cakles lived in a bakery window as a Rainbow Bright birthday cake all decked out with the figurines and fancy writing. One day someone decided they wanted to order his cake for their daughter's 8th birthday. This was the day Cakles fled back to his home land of Slothvania to escape being part of the menu for a bunch of hyper 8 year olds. He unfortunately fell prey to the curse of being stuck half form and thus is now always rainbow colored and cake scented. His name originally wasn't Cakles, back in the day he was known as "Steve". To this day he now lives out his life bringing joy to people that love all things rainbow with a scent of cake in the form of a cute plush animal.
In the light of his tragedy of his half transformation from cake to sloth Cakles has found new joy in bringing joy to others.
To this day Cakles lives on in infamy as holding one of the longest running hide and seek titles after suffering adversity. You go Cakles, you go!!
