Atari Releases By Year

The Atari 2600 had an unusual life cycle that I felt was worth visualizing. Seeing the data like this, it feels as if the video game crash of 1983 was more like a bubble bursting. The $50 2600 Jr. gave the system a second life as a budget alternative to the NES, though Atari preferred rereleasing their old games to making new ones.
