Bartitsu: The Gentlemanly Martial Art
French dictionary illustration from 1922 showing some Bartitsu moves: the gentlemanly cane-based martial art that was practiced by Sherlock Holmes (though it was erroneously called "Baritsu" by Watson). That's the nice thing about the Holmes stories, they are full of interesting bits like that.
