Puppet Master - The Littlest Reich (Upcoming Release)

Over the years I have loved the Puppet Master series. There are some moments when the series doesn't make sense, but that's part of what makes it interesting. I am looking forward to checking this next instalment of the series out.

The series of Puppet Master horror films may have gained a reputation for their campy fun, but it's also a series that continues to churn out new chapters, with the original 1989 film inspiring a whopping 11 sequels. A new film, Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich, serves as a re-imagining of the series and will be landing in theaters this August 2018.

The upcoming reboot of Full Moon’s classic Puppet Master just premiered at the Overlook Film Festival and is said to “maintain all of the brutally inventive puppet-kills infused with the comedic tendencies that made the original franchise so popular with fans while expanding upon Toulon’s backstory and developing richer dialogue, characters, and narratives.”

The re-imagining is directed by Sonny Laguna and Tommy Wiklund from a script written by S. Craig Zahler and stars Thomas Lennon, Jenny Pellicer, Nelson Franklin, Charlyne Yi, Michael Pare, Udo Kier, and Barbara Crampton. The film is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian.

Storyline

Recently divorced and reeling, Edgar returns to his childhood home to regroup his life. When Edgar finds a nefarious looking puppet in his deceased brother's room, he decides to sell the doll for some quick cash. Girl-next-door Ashley and and comic book pal Markowitz join Edgar for a doomed road trip to an auction at a convention celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the infamous Toulon Murders. All hell breaks loose when a strange force animates the puppets at the convention, setting them on a bloody killing spree that's motivated by an evil as old as time.
