When you find your soul mate...

There is that moment when you know you have found your soul mate. And when you do you need to make sure and hold on to them.

The Lost Starstruck Pilot (1979)

Debuting on June 9, 1979 the TV Pilot for the series entitled “Starstruck” aired only once on CBS. A Sci-Fi comedy focusing on the McCallister family and the Hotel/Restaurant they run in space. The humor coming from the robotic staff as well as the clientele that the family come in contact with. The shows creators seem to have been inspired by the cantina scene from the original Star Wars.

This was considered to be a lost pilot but thankfully Chuck Cirino who happened to be an effects technician on the show saved his copy on a VHS tape and has uploaded it on his YouTube channel.

“Starstruck (Pilot; Comedy; CBS; June 9, 1979). Ben McCallister, a widower, and his children, Kate, Masrk and Rupert operate McCallisters Midway Inn, a hotel-restaurant-saloon on an orbiting space station ‘somewhere between Earth and Pluto.’ It is the 22nd century and the proposal was to relate the problems encountered by the family. Ezra and Abigail are Ben’s parents; Amber is the lounge singer; Delight is the waitress.”

Fun little fact about this lost pilot episode is that "B Flick" sci-fi and horror great Forrest A. Ackerman has a uncredited role as an Alien Astronaut in it.

For all it's campyness, (yes I used that word) It is worth a watch for a look into the vision of some of the ideas that came out of the time when Star Wars was just becoming a big thing and starting to inspire new movies and television shows.

Watch the full episode here.

Dong Wu Shi Jie - Animal World (2018)

Muddling along without any aim, the hero Zheng Kaisi accomplishes nothing and is in debt of several millions because of borrowing money from friends. In order to pay the debt, he boards a ship called "Destiny" to attend a mysterious gambling party at the instigation of someone. Once he wins, his debts can be canceled. The game rule seems very simple. Participants shall take pokers marked with "rock, paper, and scissors" as props for seizing the star sign of the opponent. However, in the face of a group of desperate gamblers, any little flaw can be utilized in the game.

Ok first off I will say that if you are watching this for a pivotal Michael Douglas movie, don't watch this. This movie was good and I loved the transition into the main character Zheng's mind as he envisions his adversaries as demonic and distorted creatures.

If you get a chance to watch this movie its worth the time.

Your greatest weapon...

The rain reminds me of her.

This evening has been filled with thunder and lightning and down pours. I sit here in silence listening to it come down and feeling the rumble of the thunder as it shakes the house. All this reminds me of her, my wife Saun. Oh how she loves the rain and dark rainy evenings. The rain it does reminds me of her and how much I love her and the wonder that is her like the rain that falls outside my window.

Please Note: This is added to my life goals.

Before I Slumber

As the night draws to a close take shelter in knowing you made it through the day.

Ed & Bela

There is a movie I am waiting for some one to complete...

Another movie about Ed Wood and Bela Lugosi - but more realistic than the Burton film. Maybe a small movie that takes place during a single afternoon. Ed’s in drag, clacking away at his typewriter - downing scotch - chain-smoking.Bela’s there smoking cigars - euphoric on morphine. They’re just in a room discussing a script - putting it together. The specifics aren’t that important. The only thing I’m adamant about is, Ralph Fiennes or Liam Neeson has to be cast as Bela.  I don’t care which — well, actually, Ralph’s probably a better choice.

The rest is up to you.

Not A Ebay Suggested Buy.

I'm pretty sure that when these kids grow up and they decided to search online to find this game from their childhood there are in for a Google search shock. I'm also pretty sure Ebay is not one of the top search results if I'm guessing.

The Inner You...

When your inner you has all these things listed you want to do and get done, but your outer you is like, "Nah lets veg and watch Netflix all evening. You can do that stuff tomorrow."

The struggle is real, lol!

Classic Book Sale Find.

Today I went to the Wood county Public Library book sale. There were a couple of books here and there that caught my eye so I grabbed them up. Then I came across it.... a box on the floor under one of the tables. It had audio books from David Eddings. There were all 5 of the Belgariad  and all 5 of the Mallorean series. These book series are in the favorites list of my wife so I could pass them up! The 10 packs only cost $1.50 all together! Biblio-score!!!
